Right Patient. Right Service. Right Time.
Sharon Brown and Associates have performed requirements definition and analysis for more health applications than any other provider. Our business analysis services span more than twenty enterprise and speciality applications across WA Health, providing us with an in-depth understanding of the complexities involved in identifying and delivering solutions within healthcare.
This experience allowed us to devise a requirements, design and testing approach that is increasingly becoming embedded throughout WA Health information strategy:
- Right Patient – Ensuring clinical systems allow clinicians to select the right patient, traced to their Unique Medical Record Number (UMRN), WA Health’s state-wide approach to uniquely identifying WA patients across its metropolitan and, to an increasing extent, country hospitals.
- Right Service – Ensuring the clinical services recorded for the right patient are accurately recorded within clinical information systems. This provides the right context on the provision of clinical reports to electronic medical records, making it easier to identify billable activities associated with clinical diagnoses and treatments
- Right Time – Ensuring information is made readily available to clinicians. This is achieved by assessing the clinical workflows against a patient’s journey through the hospital environment and tracing the provision of the right information, at the right time, to the right clinical and administrative workers.
Sharon Brown & Associates are currently assisting our clients tackle key challenges including:
- Delivering specialist applications to Fiona Stanley Hospital – Development and updates to an application portfolio register within SharePoint™, keeping key stakeholders abreast of requirements and communication management of more than 400 specialist applications requiring transition from existing metropolitan hospitals to the new Fiona Stanley Hospital.
- Developing new capabilities for theatres – Blending new technology into existing legacy application architecture at WA Health. This meets WA Health’s Theatre Management System for Fiona Stanley Hospital’s requirements and positions it for further enhancements required by all metropolitan hospitals.
- Confirming a Right Patient, Right Service and Right Time Solution for Medical Equipment – Engagement with the FSH Facilities Manager and Medical Equipment Vendors to elicit and confirm the requirements and design of interfaces between Medical Equipment, in line with WA Health’s safety focused Right Patient, Right Service, Right Time principles.
